The Spin Doctors

I savSpin Doctored some comments from a post MM wrote back in April because I wanted to mull them over some more.  Now I want to see what everyone else thinks.  Some very good points were brought up in these comments…

AH must have heard about the gate and it must have made an impression on her for her to mention it. What would have been the context in which she heard about the gate? And from whom? Most likely Heidi.

Angela later confessed that she did not talk to Justin every day,and hadn’t seen him since he was eight years old, but she said at first that she talked to him every day, and then had to take it back.

Undoubtedly she was summoned by her cousin Heidi to take on the task of spinning the morning of discovery as well as, what CG describes as “the moral superiority of the DiPietros”. I think all of Angela’s info comes from Heidi who has directed the DiPietro defense team from the beginning. Question is why?

You can feel sorrow that a friend of your son’s has lost his daughter, and more sorrow that he is under suspicion, but who takes on defending the whole crew associated with the disappearance/suspicion in the public’s eye? heidi has a dog in the fight.

I agree Penny. I don’t know how entrenched her dog is or whether there’s more than one, perhaps, but there seems to be something there… In addition to Derek’s being at the house at critical time periods near Ayla’s reported “disappearance,” and the alleged pre-911 phone call, and the LIP, and whatever those factors may mean…

One of the things I find odd is that from the get-go, the Tudela/Harry collective started addressing custody issues. When a baby is missing, is the first thing that comes to mind which is parent more deserving of custody? If you really believe the baby is out there in the hands of a kidnapper or perhaps in the frigid Maine winter, that is not something that matters a whit.

Derek was bashing Trista’s right to raise her child in a FB post four days after Justin reported Ayla missing. “Teri… Where ate you getting this BS. Do your research. The father never once mentioned anything about the people who were in his home or reason to believe any one there was involved. Secondly, the parents will not re-unite as you say as they were never a couple; let’s not beat around the bush… It was a one night stand! I am all for a mother raising her child when she is responsible and loving but this mom has been to rehab… MORE than once! Is she really crazy enough to believe that filing for full custody was a good idea? She is frigging homeless!!! He didn’t “give the woman a child.” in fact, she didn’t tell him about his daughter unroll she was seven months old and the mother had no other option when applying for welfare.

Justin barely spoke to media, comparative to Trista, but when he did, four days in, he chose to address the alleged legitimacy of his custody as derived from an agreement with Trista rather than from DHHS action. Why do you suppose he went on national tv to say that?

And along comes Tudela family unofficial spokesperson Angela Harry a little later on to say something that amounts to don’t look at custody; look over there.

When trying to identify the missing puzzle pieces, it’s interesting to see who alerts to what.

Who is Angela Harry related to in this case and what triggered her telling this story? She’s related to Heidi Tudela. She started her blog 11 days after the maternal family started aylareynolds.com. Harry insisted people should not assume Ayla’s disappearance was “a custody thing.” She stated people should not assume “something terrible must have befallen Ayla.” (these quotes were on the website at that time)

Harry’s site was launched January 16, 2011. Justin’s poly was three days earlier. Police had already declared Ayla a victim of foul play. Heidi had been in Justin’s house and seen Ayla’s blood by her own accounting. In all probability, Justin’s encounter with Ayla’s blood at the police station had happened by then though we don’t have an exact date.

Just Stop the Lies was launched approximately February 26, 2012. Some sources have identified the owner of that website as a relation of Heidi’s. I don’t know if anyone has firmly established the relationship as fact. The website’s immediate agenda was life insurance, Ayla’s broken arm, and custody.

Interesting observations cg. Why were the Tudella’s involved in so much spin?

Good question, Dee. I think we see the same points of vulnerability surfacing again and again. If you go back to what Derek wrote about on FB, he addressed custody within days of Ayla being reported missing.

From the time Heidi started posting about this case online, she seemed focused on two issues, the life insurance’s alleged insignificance and the alleged insignificance of the blood.

I know you do some statement analysis. Have you ever tried doing statement analysis on Heidi’s posts juxtaposed with Derek’s?

Look at Derek’s account(s) of when he last saw Ayla/ when he was last in the DiPietro house before Ayla was reported missing/why he was there. Look at Heidi’s statement on the subject of when Derek was there. Look for consistency and inconsistency and place the statements in the context of what else was happening when those statements were made.

An issue that appears very sensitive to the DiPietros is partying/drugs. Phoebe spoke out to say no party took place. The lawyer representing her and Elisha went public claiming:

no party that night
no one drinking in the home that night
no one drinks in the home at all
no drugs consumed in the home
no drugs sold in the home

http://www.onlinesentinel.com/news/Lawyer-Aylas-aunt-telling-the-truth.html

The reported evidence discrediting some of these statements is abundant. The alleged wine trip that evening. Neighbors speaking of a party that evening. Friends referencing a poker party there the 15th. The slideshow showing empties in Justin’s bedroom. A former resident of the household saying drugs were used there. And on and on.

Put the DiPietro and Tudela sensitivities together and what do you see?

I don’t like what’s coming into focus when I look at it that way. I’m going to go back and look at their statements more carefully and think on what you said.

CG let’s not forget alcohol was found in Justin’s SUV too.

Why did Justin call Derek before calling 911?  Had Derek been there Friday evening?

Why, instead of expressing concern for Ayla, did Derek immediately go online to bash Trista?

Why was the issue of Ayla’s “custody” being  hammered home when she had only been missing a matter of days?

Why did a relative of Heidi’s get involved by forming TLLOM and writing that edited, re-edited and then taken down story?

Why did Heidi go on the offensive, defending Justin. her son and the life insurance everywhere she could; hosting the DiPietro’s when they couldn’t return home and then arranging and choreographing Justin’s “interview” at her home?

They are adults, so why would the DiPietro’s be so sensitive when it comes to drinking in their home?

What do you think?
